This week on Eats Texas, David Elder takes us to San Antonio's newest waterfront restaurant, Sugar Factory, serving up burgers and cocktails in a chic atmosphere.

David got even prettier with a 24kg gilded cheeseburger.

David then took us to Houston to try Asian-Tex BBQ fusion at Loro's. David tasted the menu with Chef Mike Perez and discussed Laura's special on the popular BBQuest show Beef Loving Texans.

After that, David brought hot cookies, sandwich wraps and more Jewish food to the north side of San Antonio. David talks to owner Jason Fiske about his heritage and culinary inspiration.

David then headed to East Texas to try BBQ at one of the top 10 BBQ places in Texas, Truth BBQ.

Then David heats things up in his Texas outdoor kitchen with a delicious Shiner beer chicken recipe.

Next, David dives into traditional Filipino cuisine with a modern twist at Be More Pacific.

David sums it all up in San Antonio with his award-winning breakfast tacos at Tacos 'n Salsa.

1 can of Shiner beer

1 whole chicken

Water

Kosher salt

Rosemary

Package

Sliced ​​lemon

White garlic

Spices with pickles

1 Paste soft butter

Favorite spice mix

Directions:

To make the brine, bring the water, kosher salt, rosemary, parsley, lemon, garlic and spices to a boil.

Add the ice to the pan and refrigerate until chilled.

Place the whole chicken in a deep pot and cover with the sauce.

Refrigerate the cooked chicken overnight for up to 24 hours.

Remove the chicken from the oven and rinse under cold water.

Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel.

In a small bowl, combine the butter and your favorite spice mix.

Remove the gloves from the chicken, apply the oil mixture and rub the oil mixture over the chicken.

Season the chicken with kosher salt.

Open a can of beer and drink half of the beer.

Add butter to half a can of beer.

Place the beer can in the cavity of the chicken and place it vertically in the pot.

Place the pan in an oven preheated to 450 degrees and cover.

Cook the chicken until the internal temperature reaches 175 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove the chicken from the oven and let it cool before slicing.

Enjoy your pancakes and a cold Shiner beer.
